No strangers to taking on a renovation, Hannah and Pete wanted a new project to create a family home in a friendly community. And this Victorian terrace was full of potential and in the perfect location.

WHAT LED YOU TO THIS HOUSE?

‘Ten years ago, having previously transformed a student flat in Tyneside into a cosy home, we decided to look for a quieter area with young families. We loved that this house was within walking distance of Newcastle's vibrant city centre and in easy reach of the Town Moor.’

HOW HAVE YOU MADE YOUR MARK?

‘The property needed a lot of work; many of the original period features had been removed and we were excited to bring it back to life. It was originally a four bedroom house but we decided to knock a bedroom through into the small bathroom and WC to create a large family bathroom and laundry room. ‘Ihe house needed stripping back, along with rewiring, replacement windows and a new central heating system. This ate into our budget and it took a lot of patience to get the basics right before we could get our hands on the fun design side!
