A ONCE-DRAB OUTDOOR SPACE IN SYDNEY'S INNER WEST IS NOW AN ENTERTAINER'S DELIGHT, WHICH MAKES USE OF EVERY SQUARE CENTIMETRE IN STYLE

One good thing came out of Covid for Louise, her husband Matt and their two daughters, now 24 and 20. “When we were all at home together, we realised how much our space was important to us,” shares Louise. The family longed to entertain loved ones however, at the time, their outside area consisted of four boring, barren decks. Determined to make a change, Louise started following landscape architects on Instagram.

She was drawn to the work of Adam Robinson of Adam Robinson Design, and contacted him to transform their outdoor space. As they live in an Inner West suburb of Sydney, the couple wanted a look to suit the urban vibe, and Adam delivered. “There are little spots to catch the sun,” he explains. “They can dine, they can lounge and for a small space, it’s quite interesting and usable.” The couple couldn't be happier with the considered, urban sanctuary Adam has created. “If we ever move, Adam is on speed dial for my next garden,” says Louise.
