Are you up to speed with hotels that ask you to slow down? Imrun Sethi and Guneet Singh open The Kin in Mumbai that says stay, eat, drink, shop art and dip into wellness the way you like

PICK A DOOR AND TUC K-IN

This isn't your regular hotel review. When my morning check-in turned into an entry to a sunlight-bathed objects gallery, where one can shop what they see — I realised this is not a mainstream hotel. Called The Kin with an electric blue logo that nearly has become a cult identity on social media, the 15-room hotel with three floors, borders the Arabian Sea and Dadar Chowpatty on one end and the city-centre frenzy on the other.

imageUnpredictable, familiar and industrial-edgy; before the luggage reaches your room, the experience already takes off. Fluted marble walls, mirror ceilings, a vinyl music nook quietly peeping out and a train of artworks. Add to this, the punching tempo of electronic-indie playlist curated by Imrun Sethi, The Kin's co-founder alongside his sibling Guneet Singh.
