At Anuga FoodTec India, Manas Nandi, Editor-in-Chief of Food Infotech Magazine, interacted with Joachim Ott, Inline Product Inspection Specialist, Wipotec, to delve into his perspectives on the Indian Food processing Market and Wipotec's product portfolio. The interview also spanned the tailor-made and the Sustainable solutions provided by Wipotec.

Can you please tell us more about what makes Wipotec X-ray Solutions outstanding from other solutions of a similar kind?

As you might know, there are a lot of X-ray machines on the market. What makes us really different is that we build modular solutions. We have a modular toolbox, and out of that we can build really tailor-made solutions for the customer. Normally, people ask me, What is your machine? And I ask back, What do you need? So I will really have a look at what is really required by the customer. So our people have to fill out a checklist, which is an application checklist. And based on that, we design the machine out of our modular world or modular toolbox.

So, if I need a percentage, what percentage of customisation can be done on your machines for your customers?

Of course, it's a question of whether it's just another button or something simple, or if we really start to build very complex systems. We also do that, and then it's just a question of the budget, of course. The more we individualise, of course, the more we have to add to the price. That's really great for the customers. Get a tailor-made solution, which in the end works perfectly in the line. And that's our thing.

We want to have a very high OEE for the customer. And in the long term, the OEE makes money for our customers. So that's why we have this modular philosophy to tailor-make the machine in a way that the customer needs.
