Sustainable solutions for land use require a joined-up approach.

YOU SUSPECT Kelly Hewson-Fisher would be a useful ally if you ended up stranded on a remote island. She'd identify any crops for food, find water fit enough to drink and, given her position as head of rural research at Savills, she’d probably have mapped the archipelago and tracked the landscape data already.
The Government is due to publish its Land Use Framework shortly, describing it as an exploration of 'the changes implied by commitments to restore nature, support food production, improve climate resilience and deliver new housing and infrastructure'. Considering Labour's track record towards farming, it might be worth seeing how habitable that island is as a permanent residence.
