PATEK PHILIPPE CUBITUS

After making waves in the world of horology through the Cubitus, Patek Philippe continues providing new avenues for fans to be excited about. For its 2025 novelties, the watchmaker has offered a smaller 40mm diameter version of the Cubitus ref. 7128. Square watches have always worn larger, and the previous Cubitus diameter of 45mm could look imposing on smaller wrists. This is why the smaller iteration rounds up this model perfectly, offering a different aesthetic to the three-handed timepiece with a date complication. Factor in the 8.5mm thickness and it becomes a prime candidate for dressier outfits, even though Patek Philippe positions this watch as a 'casual chic' option. The new Cubitus comes in two options: white gold case with a sunburst blue-grey dial, as well as a rose gold case and a sunburst brown dial.

While many of Patek Philippe's novelties earned the adoration of watch fans, none generated as much buzz as the ref. 27000M desk clock. It took seven years to complete this wonder, and there is little surprise why it is technical to the core. Some of our favourite features of this clock are its 31-day power reserve, along with its impressive accuracy of just one second's deviation per day. This accuracy is consistent from start to finish, too, thanks to the constant-force mechanism that maintains a stable heartbeat, so to speak, regardless of the power reserve it holds. Besides that, the dial also reveals the clock's other complications: a perpetual calendar, weekly calendar, power reserve indicator, and moon phase. It is modestly sized too, at 164.6mm long and 125mm wide, with a 76.73mm height.
