DREAMLAND
NEW THURSDAY, 9PM, SKY
ATLANTIC COMEDY DRAMA
(BOX SET, SKY BOX SETS/NOW)

Grab your buckets and spades as Sky Atlantic takes us to the Kent seaside J town of Margate to explore the complicated lives of four very different sisters in new comedy drama Dreamland.

Based on a 2017 Sky Arts short by Motherland co-creator Sharon Horgan, the six-part series sees eldest child Trish (played by Doctor Who's Freema Agyeman) and her siblings Clare (rising star Gabby Best) and Leila (Peaky Blinders actor Aimee-Ffion Edwards) finding their worlds turned upside down when their sister Mel (singer Lily Allen) unexpectedly returns from Paris.

TV Times caught up with Freema, 44, to find out more...

What do you think sets Dreamland apart from other comedy dramas?

The show is so beautifully observed and placed in total realism. It's a dark comedy, so the laughter is coming from the reality of these painful, absurd, difficult life moments that I think audiences will relate to- or learn from!

Your character, Trish, is happily married to Spence (Ghosts star Kiell SmithBynoe). What else can you tell us about her?
