Brooke Vincent is no stranger to the world of soap, having played spirited Sophie Webster in ITV's Coronation Street from 2004 to 2019. But now, the 34-year-old actor is swapping the Manchester cobbles for Chester to join E4 soap Hollyoaks as rehabilitation counsellor Abigail Matthews, who is set to become a key player in teenager Dee Dee Hutchinson's drugaddiction storyline.

Welcome to Hollyoaks, Brooke! How do we meet your character?

When Dee Dee [played by Chloe Atkinson] tries to escape rehab, Abigail takes her home to make sure she gets there safely. Abigail instantly makes friends in the village and she bumps into Nancy Osborne [the head teacher of Hollyoaks High School, portrayed by Jessica Fox], who mentions she is looking for a new teacher. Abigail tells her that she is actually a teacher by trade, and before she knows it, she's the new English and drama teacher.
