How far would a mother go to protect her child? This is the question at the heart of C4’s new high-pressure crime thriller, In Flight.

Co-created and written by Mike Walden (Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses), the six-parter sees Mr Bates vs The Post Office star Katherine Kelly play flight attendant Jo Conran, whose 19-year-old son, Sonny (Everything Now's Harry Cadby), has been imprisoned in Bulgaria and is serving a 15-year sentence for a murder he insists he didn’t commit.

Things take a further terrifying turn when single mum Jo is approached by hardened criminal Cormac (Miss Scarlet & the Duke's Stuart Martin), who warns her that Sonny’s life is on the line unless she uses her job as cover to smuggle vast quantities of drugs for his bosses. As she is forced into a murky underworld laced with corruption and danger, can she find a way out while keeping her lad alive?
