The Platt house is torched... but who is responsible, and will everyone come out unscathed?
-
N0.8 Coronation Street has always been a hotbed of drama, and that's certainly the case this week when the property - home to David and Shona Platt, kids Max and Lily and our favourite member of the family, David the dog - is the scene of an arson attack.
David (the human, not the Yorkshire terrier) is an obvious suspect, given that he owes thousands to gangster Harvey Gaskell and would benefit from a hefty insurance payout. But this is Soapland so, naturally, there's a host of residents under suspicion.
The blaze takes place on Sarah's birthday. A party has been arranged at the Bistro, but David hasn't got time to be drinking Prosecco. Making a call to his dodgy mate Andy, he finalises a risky plan to settle his debt, and lies to his sister that he can't attend because of work commitments.
