Jon Richardson loves pubs - so much so, in fact, that he even repurposed the garage at his home into a private watering hole! But now, the comedian and Waterloo Road actor is hoping to take his passion for pints a step further by fulfilling his ambition to own a pretty countryside inn.

Across four episodes, new More4 series Our Yorkshire Pub Rescue will follow the 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown team captain as he helps to restore and reopen The Plough, a derelict boozer nestled in the North Yorkshire village of Fadmoor, after becoming a shareholder in a community-led project.

'I mentioned to my accountant that my longterm goal was to own a pub - he wasn't happy!' laughs Jon, as he joins TV Times for a chat. 'So this is the dream option where I don't own the full pub but I still get to spout off about what I think it should have and what it should sell!'
