One of Essex’s most famous residents, Rylan Clark, joins forces with Professor Alice Roberts to delve into a dark chapter in the county's history in Witches of Essex.
Sky History's three-part series focuses on three notorious witch trials, which took place in Essex during the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with Clark and Roberts seeking to discover why the women were persecuted. Clark admits that it was new territory.
'I'm an Essex boy, but I didn't realise half the stuff happened 20 minutes from my house!' he says.
