Meet the latest super-rich guests as The White Lotus moves to Thailand

- STEVEN PERKINS

Five-star feuds

Set amid sun-kissed resorts in Hawaii and Sicily, the first two seasons of brilliant comedy drama The White Lotus saw guests and staff at the luxury hotel chain tangled up in toxic relationships, addiction and murder.

Now, as the anthology series relocates to Thailand for its third season, there’s more trouble in paradise as a new batch of wealthy holidaymakers check in to the resort, which offers a menu of spa treatments while encouraging guests to lock their phones away and completely disconnect from the outside world.

‘The new season will be much, much darker,’ reveals Mike White, the writer-director of the Emmy-winning satire. ‘The guests are all in some kind of hurt. Like, they’re all dead, but they don’t know it.’

NEW START

Among the privileged guests checking in are businessman Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) and his family, old friends Kate (Leslie Bibb), Laurie (Carrie Coon) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), and the irascible Rick (Walton Goggins), with his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood).
