A SHORT WALK ON THE MEMORY LANE

April 2024

Nostalgia is both an ache and a draught, a draught more aptly as it provides the required energy to the wistful heart and patiently remains one’s undeterred friend during lonesome times and even transporting one to the blissful world of memories far away from the tension-ridden beguiling present.

A SHORT WALK ON THE MEMORY LANE

Nostalgia is the sweet smell that opens the floodgates of memories, haunting and healing at the same time. It is like a staircase letting one hop from memory to memory, becoming the inspiration for writing poems or stitching them to music alluring and appeasing millions around the globe who are also on their perpetual tour of nostalgia.

For me it comes and goes, getting ignited at the slightest trigger. Like the sweet smell of a freshly brewed afternoon lemon tea, the misty smell of fog clouding the window pane or the soothing summer afternoon breeze trickling the grasses.
