Strawberry Gelato

'This recipe is a simple one to start with if you're new to making ice cream. It doesn't mute flavors, so it's a great base for any juicy fruits like blackberries, peaches or whatever inspires you'

1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 tsp. xanthan gum
2/3 cup plus 1/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, very cold
1 pt. fresh strawberries, hulled and cut into 1/2-in pieces (about 11/2 cups)
2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice (from 1 lime)
