VIBHUTI ARORA, founder of House of Beauty and Face Yoga Master, tells Karen Alfonso how she put facial yoga on the map

- Karen Alfonso

We all know the benefits of yoga, but facial yoga is a relatively-new concept that is lucky to have Vibhuti Arora as its champion. Thanks to her, we have learnt how to de-puff, lift, and tone our facial muscles to give ourselves a more youthful appearance. In an exclusive chat, we found out how Vibhuti launched a movement, and a brand of high-tech tools called House of Beauty...

Edited excerpts from an interview

What inspired you to start House of Beauty and venture into face yoga?

I'd always known that my heart belonged to beauty. Even as a child, I was fascinated by transformation – not just external, but how beauty made people feel. After completing my MBA, I followed that passion to France and enrolled at ESMOD, where I studied makeup artistry. That's where I first discovered the deeper world of skincare and cosmetology. Initially, I dreamed of launching my own makeup line, but life had other plans. After moving from Dubai to Delhi as a newly-married woman, I shifted focus to family and, soon after, launched a chain of salons, intending for House of Beauty to serve as a B2B beauty brand.

Then came a turning point – I was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune skin condition. At a time when clean beauty was almost unheard of in India, I began experimenting with my own formulations – from creams with shuddh desi ghee to handmade shampoos – simply to heal myself. But, as I healed, I realised it wasn’t just about creams or serums. It was about holistic living – face yoga, massage, clean eating, and mind-body balance. That realisation changed everything. I went back to study Ayurveda, trained with the Ministry of AYUSH, became a certified yoga teacher evaluator, and ultimately wrote my book on face yoga. That is how Face Yoga by House of Beauty was born – not just as a brand, but as a movement for self-healing, self-love, and noninvasive beauty rooted in science and ancient Indian wisdom.
