Reducing the amount we consume unnecessarily is one of the keys to more sustainable living. Before making a purchase for the home, ask yourself whether you really need it, how much it would be used, why you really want to buy it, and whether something else you already have would work instead. The fewer impulsive buys you make, the better for the planet in terms of harmful CO2 emissions when it – or even just its packaging – gets dumped in a landfill.

There are many jokes going around about how we Indians can convert old clothes into anything except food. Good on us!
