A LEGACY OF BEAUTY & PURPOSE
Femina
|March - April 2025
For over six decades, the Femina Miss India pageant has been more than just a beauty contest - it has been a beacon of aspiration and empowerment for women across the country.
-
Launched in 1964, it has catapulted countless young women into the national spotlight, offering them a platform to voice their ambitions, break stereotypes, and define success on their own terms. From Bollywood icons such as Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra to changemakers in various fields, the legacy of Femina Miss India is woven with stories of the power, the beauty, and the resilience of Indian women.
Even today, women from every corner of India participate, not just for the crown but for the journey of self-discovery it offers. The competition has evolved, embracing inclusivity and redefining beauty as confidence, intelligence, and purpose. In a country where representation matters, Femina Miss India remains an enduring symbol of grace and strength, proving that beauty is not just about how you lookbut about how you show up in the world.
The 2025 winners have added another chapter to this illustrious legacy - Femina Miss India World 2024 Nikita Porwal from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the 1st Runner-up Rekha Pandey from Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and our 2nd Runner-up, Aayushi Dholakia from Vadodara, Gujarat. With their unique stories, diverse backgrounds, and unwavering determination, they exemplify the modern Indian woman.
THE WORLD IS HER OYSTER
Femina Miss India World 2024 NIKITA PORWAL is all set to take on the Miss World title alongside 72 other candidates. She talks to Sharon D’Silva about the experiences that have made her the person she is
At just six years old, Nikita Porwal slipped into a glittering gown and a little tiara, dressed by her mother as Femina Miss India for a school fancy-dress competition. What seemed like a playful childhood moment would later turn into a self fulfilling prophecy – a glimpse into a future in which she would embody the same confidence, elegance and ambition that the crown represents.
