SAG-AFTRA Creates New Game-Changing 15,000 Square Foot Meryl Streep Centre

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation had a vision to bring its members together under one roof. That vision became a reality with the creation of the Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists, a vibrant 15,000-square-foot hub designed to foster creativity and connection. The new facility houses screening rooms, voice-over labs, an on-camera studio, classrooms, and collaborative spaces — all on the same floor — encouraging interaction among members. Previously, the Foundation operated out of isolated pockets scattered across a 10-story building.

To turn this vision into reality, the Foundation partnered with Advanced Systems Group (ASG), leveraging their expertise in audio, video, and systems integration. What began as a simple plan to upgrade a screening room evolved into a fully realized state-of-the-art center in Los Angeles.

One of the first goals was to reimagine the screening experience. The Foundation's former screening room could no longer support modern workflows or formats like DCP. "We wanted a screening experience that matched today's professional standards and the ability to screen content the way studios intended," explained Charlotte Wells, Chief Operating Officer of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. "That got us thinking about what else was possible."
