It was a bright, sunny day in the kingdom of Norse. Ruled by King Olaf, lovingly called 'Frea' by his subjects.

A SUCCESS STORY

The Norse kingdom was famous for its artwork and skilled workmanship. Even children in the kingdom were skilled at work.

On a bright, sunny day, Odin and his three friends went into the deep part of the Scandinavian Ed forest. Staring at a pine tree standing long and straight, Odin said in awe, "This pine will provide the best wood for our boat. It's exactly what I have in mind."

Erik, Viggo, and Gry, laughing and chattering, cut out logs from the tree. Each carried one.

They walked to the edge of Ed forest to a work shed where the children met after completing their daily chores. They stacked the logs carefully in a corner with other logs of different woods and some tools arranged neatly.

The children belonged to families who were coastal farmers. The farmers were skilled at building small ships, and could easily and quickly construct a fleet of them at their Frea's command.

Odin would watch for hours when his father and uncles built boats and ships. He helped when he was allowed, making notes about materials used in boat design.

He, too, felt that he must build a ship. Gry, particular about details, made a list.

As soon as the logs were assembled, she ticked them off the list. "Now we have to get a box of nuts and bolts."
