THE COUPLE FACED A DIFFICULT TIME WHEN THEIR CAREERS WERE ON A COLLISION COURSE

It’s been 21 years since Nicole Kidman debuted her singing voice alongside Robbie Williams in their hit duet ‘Somethin’ Stupid’, but despite being heaped with praise for her hidden talent, she never warmed up her vocal chords again – until now.

The 55-year-old surprised fans in October when she revealed a collaboration on actor Luke Evans’ new album, in which the duo team up to sing A Great Big World’s breathy ballad, ‘Say Something’. According to Evans, who met Kidman when they co-starred in Nine Perfect Strangers, they first sang together at a dinner party she hosted with her Grammy-winning husband, Keith Urban. “People were transfixed,” says a source. “They kept asking Keith why he’d been hiding the real talent of the Kidman-Urban family!”

However, one insider alleges that Urban, 55, wasn’t so on board with his wife stepping into his territory. “He’s always known she was an amazing singer because during lockdown when he couldn’t work with his band, she jammed with him,” says a source. “Friends always did wonder if it was a bit strange that she’s never done any singing with Keith, especially after how well received her single with Robbie was and her role in [musical] Moulin Rouge! only a couple of years before they met. Keith loves a duet, so now he’s under pressure to include his wife onstage.”
