In a devastating Lifetime docuseries, sisters Wynonna and Ashley Judd reflect anew on their late mother, Naomi, and their fractured family

On classic tracks like “Why Not Me,” The Judds — Naomi Judd and daughter Wynonna — were always in harmony. “It was like we were one person singing,” Wynonna says in The Judd Family: Truth Be Told. “Nobody could tell whose voice it was.”

Offstage, though, generational trauma, depression and dysfunction seemed to rule their lives. This new docuseries (Lifetime, May 10-11, 8 P.M.) delves into the complex but loving dynamic between Naomi (who died by suicide in April 2022), Wynonna and her younger sister, actress Ashley Judd.
