MICHAEL GRAZIADEI ON Y&R RETURN

Michael Graziadei wasn't thinking about a return to the No. 1 soap as Daniel, until a memorable visit from Bryton James (Devon).

"Bryton came over to my house with Christel [Khalil, Lily] so they could meet [my] boys, hold them and throw them around," recalls the actor, who became a father to twins Arlo and Oliver in August 2021. "So we're playing around and Bryton asked, 'Would you ever come back to Y&R?' And I said, 'I don't know, man, I never really thought about it.' Then I added, 'I just always thought that if they ever wanted me to come back that they would call me.' Bryton asked if I'd be open to it. That made me think if I had a regular job in Los Angeles and was not running out of town, I would be able to watch my sons grow up. So I told Bryton, I'd be very tempted.""

After their chat, James got the ball rolling. "Bryton spoke with a bunch of people over there and then they all started calling me," Graziadei marvels. "From there it just happened really fast. At one point they said, 'You know, we're thinking we'll do this but it won't be until December.' And then all of a sudden, they called and they're like, 'Hey, here's the offer and we wanna start in October.' That was just a couple of weeks away! It's nice to know that I built enough goodwill while I was there that people actually wanted to see me in that building again."
