ACTOR Gary Sinise's family was hit with a tragic cancer double-whammy that caused the Forrest Gump star to trade Hollywood for Nashville so that he could tend to his stricken wife and help his doomed musician son complete an album!

"My wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer," he says. "My son was diagnosed with this very rare cancer ...within two months of each other."

On top of that, Gary's father suffered a stroke! "I kind of had my hands full," he understates.
