The chemistry is sizzling as Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau make their relationship official on her 41st birthday

Rumours of fireworks going boom, boom, boom for Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have been swirling since the summer. However, the pair finally made it official on her birthday, Oct. 25, when they were seen holding hands while leaving a cabaret show in Paris.

The duo looked ultra-chic, with the “Teenage Dream” singer, 41, wowing in a figure-hugging red dress and black pointed-toe heels, while Canada's former prime minister, 53, was dapper in black.

"We have already had the pleasure of welcoming Katy Perry to the show several times," Silvia Reissner, head of communication at Crazy Horse Paris, tells Hello! Canada. "We were thrilled she chose to celebrate her birthday [with us]."

Fans and photographers were also delighted, waiting outside to sing "Happy Birthday" to the ex-American Idol judge. One onlooker even gifted Katy with a red rose, which she accepted graciously before climbing into a waiting black car, followed by Justin.

Speculation about the couple's romance came shortly after the California native confirmed her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, whom she dated for almost a decade.
