INVITING US TO THEIR BEAUTIFUL FARM OASIS BRETT AND CECILIA KISSEL THE CANADIAN COUNTRY SENSATION AND HIS WIFE SHARE THEIR RECIPE FOR CREATING A HAPPY HOME

“I was so inspired that I went home and wrote a song,” the country music singer tells us of his track “Ten Years From Now,” which appears on East Album, the second record in his four-part box set The Compass Project (a third, West Album, comes out this fall). He goes on to recite the lyrics: “Ten years from now, I wonder where I’ll be/Back on the family farm, or rolling around the country ... I might even have a wife, or maybe a little child/Will I even be around/Ten years from now?”

Thinking about the wonderful life he and Cecilia, 35, have built together, Brett recognizes the full-circle moment. “It’s funny, because we’ve literally accomplished all of those things 10 years later – we bought the family farm, and we have four children now,” says the Alberta native, 33, who, during the pandemic, bought into the cattle ranch that’s been in his family for more than 100 years. Not long after that, he and Cecilia purchased their dream property, just two hours away, where they now live with their daughters, Mila, 7, and Aria, 6, and sons, Leo, 4, and Atlas, 1.

“We feel very blessed,” he says, welcoming Hello! Canada to their little slice of paradise in rural Alberta, showing it off for the first time since it’s been fully renovated.
