WHAT KIND OF BRIDE ARE YOU?

Three HELLO! brides-to-be step inside The Mews Bridal in Notting Hill to discover whether the gown of their dreams is really what they imagined – or if trying on the unexpected is the secret to saying yes to the dress...

WHAT KIND OF BRIDE ARE YOU?

What happens when three newly engaged colleagues – each with wildly different tastes – step into one of London's most celebrated bridal boutiques? Think Sex and the City with a dash of workplace bonding, a few happy tears and, of course, a photographer on hand to capture it all.

Enter The Mews Bridal, a dreamy oasis of French elegance in the heart of Notting Hill, just a heel-click away from Portobello Road. The boutique was founded by Lauren Crispin, who co-owns it with her mother, Gail.

After years of living in France, Lauren fell in love with the effortless sophistication of Parisian bridal fashion and saw a gap in the British market.

Determined to bring a slice of that je ne sais quoi to London brides, she opened The Mews Bridal in 2012. Since then, it has become a destination for those seeking timeless, modern gowns with French flair.

Today, The Mews is the exclusive UK stockist for a carefully chosen selection of French designers, including Laure de Sagazan, Caroline Takvorian, Mademoiselle de Guise, A La Robe, Lambert Créations and Victoire Vermeulen. Together, they represent a new kind of bridal style: romantic yet understated, sophisticated yet fresh.

To put this ethos to the test, Lauren invited three members of HELLO!'s team – Clare Pennington, Sharnaz Shahid and Lauren Ramsay – to try on two dresses each, one chosen to reflect their personal style and another selected to push them far outside their comfort zones.

The results? Some surprises, plenty of lace and French silk and a powerful reminder that when it comes to finding "the one" (and no, we don't mean the fiancé), it pays to keep an open mind.
