It definitely wasn’t a Cruel Summer for Taylor Swift, who swept the board at the MTV Video Music Awards last week. The singer made pop history when she won nine of the 11 categories in which she was nominated, including Artist of the Year, in a star-studded ceremony held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The 33-year-old, who will visit the UK for a sell-out tour next year, capped a remarkable 12 months when she won Album of the Year for her release Midnights, as well as Show of the Summer. She also came first in six categories for her hit song and video Anti-Hero.
