Rachel Stevens is learning to trust and believe in herself as she embraces single life for the first time in decades

For the first time in 20 years, the S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens is single and embracing a fresh start.

When the singer ended a three-year relationship with her Dancing On Ice partner Brendyn Hatfield in the summer, it stirred up emotions that she had been bottling up for decades – from suffering panic attacks as a teenager in S Club 7 to the divorce of her parents to the end of her own marriage to Alex Bourne, the father of her two daughters, Amelie and Minnie.

“For a long time, I put a smile on and turned up and became the person that I thought I should be and got very lost along the way,” admits Rachel, 47, in a deeply personal chat with HELLO! on this week’s Second Act podcast.
