Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein ties the knot with wealthy Venezuelan scion in romantic ceremony in Vaduz

Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein made a beautiful bride when she married her Prince Charming, Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer, in a lavish royal wedding last week.

The only daughter of Hereditary Prince Alois, heir to the Liechtenstein throne, and his wife, Princess Sophie - and granddaughter of the tiny European country's monarch, Prince Hans-Adam II - Marie Caroline said "I do" inside the picturesque Cathedral of St Florin in Vaduz, with crowds of well-wishers lining the streets.

The bride wore the spectacular Habsburg Fringe tiara but chose to keep the designer of her delicate, full-length lace gown private.

The Kokoshnik-style piece, which dates from around 1890 and features gold, silver and diamonds, has been worn by the bride's mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. It was most recently worn by Princess Maria-Anunciata, Marie Caroline's cousin, at her wedding in 2021.
