It had all the ingredients for a perfect wedding day: a beautiful young couple, a historic venue and one of the world's best-known celebrity chefs as father of the bride.

Also in the mix were A-list guests Sir David and Lady Beckham, plus a group of fans and a scrum of security guards. Combine it all and you have the wedding of the influencer Holly Ramsay – daughter of chef Gordon and his wife, Tana – and the Olympian swimmer Adam Peaty.

The couple tied the knot at Bath Abbey on 27 December, later celebrating with a lavish reception at nearby Kin House. Adam, who turned 31 the day after the wedding, arrived at the church first with George, his five-year-old son from a previous relationship, and his best man, the retired British swimmer Ed Baxter.

Once they were inside the 15th-century venue, which had been decorated with columns of white roses and hydrangeas, Holly, who turned 26 on New Year's Eve, arrived in a Rolls-Royce Phantom accompanied by her father.

BURSTING WITH PRIDE

Gordon was thrilled to escort her, writing on social media: “I'm truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son in law @adam_peaty! I love you @hollyramsayy and couldn't be a prouder Dad.” Holly later revealed that her father “cried every time” she talked about the wedding.

Holly looked elegant in an Elie Saab lace dress inspired by the bridal gowns of Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton. “It makes me feel very princess-like,” she said.
