But the lack of an internal combustion engine and the glorious engine note that comes with it shouldn’t stand in the way of appreciating what is a very well-engineered performance EV. I was blown away the first time I drove one three years back and the Taycan has ever since, been the benchmark I compare all luxury EVs to.

Enter the Cross Turismo 4S – an even more specialized variant of the regular Taycan. It is an off-road spec estate car like the Mercedes E class All-terrain and Volvo V90 Cross Country. The Taycan Cross Turismo is three cars in one. It has the performance of a sportscar, the practicality of a wagon and the bad road capabilities of a small crossover. If you don’t want the last bit, Porsche also sells it in another flavor, called the Sport Turismo which is a regular estate that comes without the raised suspension, wheel arches and offroad bits like Gravel mode.
