India's mobile and accessories industry is rapidly transforming into a high-tech, sustainable, and self-reliant manufacturing ecosystem driven by innovation, automation, and local value creation.
India’s mobile accessories market is witnessing rapid growth, driven by rising smartphone penetration, higher disposable incomes, and expanding internet connectivity. According to Coherent Market Research, the market is valued at US$ 3,113.5 million in 2025 and projected to reach US$ 4,934.5 million by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 6.8 per cent.
Demand remains strong for chargers, earphones, power banks, and protective cases, with wireless and fast-charging accessories gaining traction among tech-savvy consumers, TechSci Research indicates. E-commerce platforms have further expanded reach for both domestic and global brands. Meanwhile, government initiatives like Make in India are strengthening local production, while trends around personalisation, sustainability, and quality continue to shape consumer choices across urban and rural markets alike.
Adapting to fast moving trends
India’s rapid smartphone adoption — among the fastest globally — has become the key driver of the mobile accessories market, fuelling demand for products that enhance usability, protection, and personalisation. This digital surge is redefining how Indians communicate and consume content, while opening opportunities across the accessories ecosystem.
Ashok Rajpal, Managing Director, Ambrane India, notes that accessories have become inseparable from smartphones. “These have become an essential extension of smartphones, as people rely on them for everyday use. Gadgets like smartwatches, earbuds, and power banks are integral parts of this ecosystem, enhancing the overall user experience and supporting advancements such as 5G and other emerging technologies. They are, without doubt, a vital component of today’s connected world.” Cette histoire est tirée de l'édition December 2025 de Manufacturing Today.

A look back and the road ahead
The year 2025 will be remembered as a period of recalibration for India's manufacturing sector. Far from a mere continuation of post-pandemic recovery, it was a year defined by the complex interplay of global economic headwinds, rapid technological adoption and a decisive domestic push towards self-reliance and sustainability. For an industry that forms the bedrock of the nation's economic ambition, 2025 was less about incremental growth and more about structural transformation, setting the stage for a more competitive and demanding 2026.
