Motor graders and pavers are your answers to getting even and smooth roads

- Molly R

LEVEL PLAYING FIELD

India has the second-largest road network in the world, spanning 5.89 million kilometres. It transports 64.5% of all goods in the country and caters to almost 90% of total passenger traffic. Road transportation has gradually increased over the years with improvement in connectivity between cities, towns, and villages. In addition to construction of national highways, state governments are also strengthening their road network. This is where the right use of equipment needs to be made.

WHAT'S NEW

Here we will look at some of the recent graders or pavers that OEMs are ready with for the market.

Mahindra's Construction Equipment Division (MCE) launched Mahindra RoadMaster G75 Smart 'Profit Ka Partner'. According to Jalaj Gupta, business head, commercial vehicles business unit, M&M, "It is designed to deliver superior grading with equipment cost marginally higher to tractor grader but still fractional as compared to conventional motor graders. It will help small contractors break free from sub-optimal grading practices through cost effective mechanization and enable them to participate in nation building."

The RoadMaster G75 Smart is powered by a 74 HP CRDi engine coupled with a 3 m (10 ft) wide blade and iMAXX telematics solution. It comes with a one-year warranty, eliminating the customer's anxiety when it comes to expensive repairs. This is possible due to Mahindra's engineering and manufacturing capability, backed up by a grueling testing regime and sourcing of the best components and the simplicity of the machine design.
