Navigating Telecom's Future: Autonomy, GenAl and Cyber-Resilience
Bisinfotech
|October 2025
In recent years, the telecom industry has undergone seismic shifts — from the rollout of 5G and the adoption of cloud-native principles to the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI (GenAI), and the growing imperative of cybersecurity.
-
Communication Service Providers (CSPs) must evolve to stay resilient and competitive.
The Vision: From Connectivity to Autonomous Intelligence
CSPs have long been in the business of connectivity. But today, their ambitions must stretch far beyond this. The future lies in networks that sense, think, and act; moving toward full autonomy.
- Sense: collect, normalize, and interpret telemetry across radio, transport, core, and cloud layers
- Think: apply AI and ML models to generate actionable insights
- Act: execute closed-loop automation to drive optimization, remediation, or service rollout
This’sense-think-act’ paradigm is foundational to the “Zero X" ambition: zero-wait, zero-touch, zero-trouble, and zero-trust. In this model, operational simplicity and seamless experience become the norm.
To realize this vision at telecom scale, several enablers are crucial. First, cross-domain visibility and data fusion must ensure that information flows seamlessly across RAN, transport, core, edge, and cloud layers, enabling decisions based on a holistic view rather than isolated silos. Equally important is model orchestration and policy frameworks, which allow multiple AI/ ML models for capacity, congestion, security, and energy optimization to coexist under governance engines, resolving conflicts and harmonizing control logic. CSPs should also pursue incremental deployment via domain autonomy, beginning with automation in specific domains like RAN or transport before expanding toward full end-to-end autonomy.Cette histoire est tirée de l'édition October 2025 de Bisinfotech.
