INDIA’S defence startup ecosystem stands at a critical inflection point. Yet, translating prototypes into battlefield-ready products and eventually into defence contracts remains a multi-layered challenge. As India eyes its ambitions of becoming a global hub for defence exports, a lot hinges on how the country supports and scales its startup ecosystem. Early-stage venture capital firm Unicorn India Ventures is on track to close its Rs 1,000 crore Fund III by July 2025. It has invested in deeptech startups such as EyeROV, Piscium Health Sciences, Esmito, Aurassure, Genrobotics, SmartCoin, QubeHealth and more.
