Beware of other boats anchoring

We recently watched a powerboat of 22ft or so attempt to anchor about five or six times before giving up and leaving the bay altogether. Every time, the anchor had failed to dig in.

The reason, of which the skipper seemed to be completely unaware, was that the anchor had become completely choked out with weed on the first attempt at anchoring, and that the weed was still packed around it as it hung over the bow.
