INDIA'S FIRST ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE THAT CHARGES LIKE A CAR

- WORDS CHRISTOPHER CHAVES

RAPTEEHV T30

If you've ever visited Chennai in peak summer, you'll know that the city doesn't just get hot-it simmers. It cooks. It slow-roasts you till your brain feels medium-rare. And right in the middle of that furnace, the electric motorcycle scene is heating up faster than an induction cooker on steroids.

Which brings me to Raptee HV, a Chennai-based EV startup that's just launched their first-ever production motorcycle-the T30. And trust me, for a first attempt, they're not exactly playing it safe. This is a motorcycle that charges on CCS2, the same plug your fancy electric cars use. Yes, the same plug you've watched MGs, Nexons, BYDs and Ioniqs hog at charging stations while EV two-wheelers sadly sit outside like underage teens denied entry.

Not this one.

The Raptee T30 walks into that charging station, flashing its CCS2 port like a boss! But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The big questions remain: Is it any good? Is it practical? Is it fun? And does it justify the sweat-soaked journey to Chennai? Let's dive in.

imageDesign and Features

Like most electric motorcycles, the T30 doesn't attempt stealth. This isn't a machine you hide in the shadows. Up front, it has a slight 'power cruiser' vibe thanks to the squished LED headlamp. The 17-inch wheels at both ends, wrapped in proper, chunky treads, give it a muscular stance. But the real drama is in the midsection-wide fairings that jut out, giving the bike a big-bike silhouette even though its actual dimensions are more 'medium' than 'large.'
