But then again, this wasn't just any hero. This was Dani Pedrosa-the man who, for an entire generation of MotoGP fans, redefined what precision, grace and outright stubborn brilliance looked like on a GP thoroughbred.

Growing up, while most were busy picking sides between the flamboyance of Valentino Rossi and the ruthless efficiency of Casey Stoner, I found myself drawn to Pedrosa's almost surgical riding style. There was something deeply compelling about how the 'Little Samurai' went about his business-quiet, methodical, and devastatingly fast when everything clicked.

At 5'2 he's basically a feather strapped to a rocket of a bike, so watching him strut his stuff when it mattered was an absolute delight. I still remember watching his performance at Valencia in 2012, where he was in a league of his own, or those masterclasses in the wet where he made the rest of the grid look like they were riding a lower category altogether.
