EICHER Pro X GOES DIESEL

Following successful customer-feedback-driven engineering, the Eicher Pro X EV launched VECV into the two-to-3.5-tonne SCV-pickup segment. Now, it's much-anticipated diesel avatar addresses duty-cycle requirements of the broader SCV segment

At the VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) manufacturing plant in Bhopal, a highly sophisticated, all-women production line stands as a testament to the company's commitment to deliver future ready solutions to customers.

In January 2025, VECV officially unveiled the two-to-3.5-tonne GVW Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) Eicher Pro X Series EV variant at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo - The Motor Show, to widespread acclaim. After the launch, in March 2025, the company shifted gears from production optimisation to establishing a focused sales and service network that addresses the unique needs of customers in this segment. It strategically inaugurated its SCV dealerships, with the inaugural exclusive Eicher Pro X dealership, operated by AV Motors, situated in Bhindarpada-Thane, Mumbai. Designed as “digital-first” facilities, these incorporate interactive displays, EV charging infrastructure, and a customisation zone for clientele.

The Eicher Pro X series, an evolution of the highly successful Eicher Pro Series, has further expanded with the new Diesel variant. According to Vinod Aggarwal, the Managing Director and CEO of VECV, the two-to-3.5-tonne SCV segment closed FY25 at an estimated 337,000 units, growing at about 7.8 per cent CAGR since FY16, “While the EV part of this segment is relatively small in numbers, it is growing at a high rate. We are thrilled with the response, the Eicher Pro X EV has received from progressive logistics players, e-commerce operators and customers seeking to reduce their carbon footprint,” he explained. With the introduction of Eicher Pro X Diesel, Aggarwal expects to significantly expand Eicher’s presence and serve customers in the SCV-pickup segment and address diverse applications ranging from fruit and vegetable distribution to kirana deliveries, growing e-commerce, and last-mile logistics. He emphasised, “We anticipate a phased expansion within the Small Commercial Vehicle segment.”
