Segrave's Sunbeam stirs

As the International Autojumble returned to Beaulieu from 6-7 September, the National Motor Museum took the opportunity to start up one of its Sunbeam 1000hp's 22.5-litre V12 aero engines in public for the first time in 90 years.

It plans to return the Land Speed Record car to Daytona Beach, Florida, in 2027 to mark the centenary of Major Henry Segrave's 203.79mph run. “This remarkable moment celebrates the legacy of the Sunbeam and fuels the excitement as we move closer to completing the restoration,” said the museum's CEO, D

Car clubs head west for Haynes celebration
The inaugural John Haynes Classic took over the Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset, on 7 September, coinciding with the venue’s 40th anniversary. The day celebrated the man as much as the cars he loved: John Haynes passed away in February 2019, and one of the sessions on the live stage brought his family and friends together to remember him.
