MINI opens up its range to include Convertible option

Two engines and three trims on offer, but no electric version to start with

MINI has taken the wraps off its revised Cooper Convertible, which features a number of updates from its three-door hatchback sibling.

Among the highlights are a new interior and an upgraded technology package. But, instead of following in the footsteps of the newly launched Cooper hatchback, the Convertible's styling sticks more closely to its predecessor's. The most obvious changes are the grille and headlights, but the basic body shape is retained, so it keeps matt black wheelarch surrounds and sills, rather than take on the Cooper E's arch-less design.

The Convertible also keeps the old model's rounded rear lights, but the new internals (and the LED headlights) can be personalised from inside the car to show different lighting signatures.
