THE ELEMENTAL OFFICE
June 2025
|Architecture + Design
In a building you'd barely notice, BASICS Architects craft a headquarters that rewrites the rules of corporate design
You wouldn't guess it walking up to the building—part warehouse, part office—but the top two floors of this mixed-use complex on the outskirts of Delhi house a surprisingly chill corporate headquarters.
Designed by BASICS Architects for Fybros, a company that deals in electrical solutions, the office manages to sidestep every cliché you’d expect from a 36,000 sq ft corporate in a 1,80,000 sq ft building setup.
FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION—DELIBERATELYThe headquarters spans the top two floors of the South tower and is accessed via a separate entrance from the ground-level warehouse. A pre-reception at the stilt level filters foot traffic before leading into a double-height main reception space lit by south-facing glazing.
This atrium becomes the anchor for the office, with both floors opening into it and connected via a metal-and-wood staircase that reads more sculptural than structural.
The plan accommodates 150 workstations alongside executive offices and other divisions. Amenities include a town hall, boardroom, showroom, guest suites, a temple and two dining areas—one a café, the other a larger cafeteria with breakout capacity.

#BEATTHEFIRE - WHAT YOU SPECIFY CAN DECIDE WHO SURVIVES
In moments of fire, there is no second chance. The materials you choose today determine whether a building protects lives tomorrow - or puts them at risk. In an age where speed of construction and visual appeal often overshadow safety, one critical truth must remain nonnegotiable: fire safety begins at the specification stage.
