Molteni&C launches a collection of Gio Ponti objects that epitomize the legendary architect's explorations and fertile imagination
It comes as no surprise that Gio Ponti, the 20th-century Italian design maestro, showed an early interest in painting before pursuing his studies in architecture. Artistry is the through line that connects the Milanese polymath's extraordinary oeuvre, encompassing skyscrapers, houses, interiors, furniture, fabrics, industrial design, and signature creations in wood, metal, glass, and ceramics. This fall, Molteni&C expands its collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives by debuting a collection of eight objects originally designed in the 1950s and refined in the following decades as new editions

Even during Sweden's famously long and bitter-cold winter, the dining room at Beata Heuman’s 18th-century family farmhouse bursts with life thanks to the hand-painted mural of tulips, lilies, dahlias, and fruit trees—all a nod to flora on the property grounds, much of it planted by her mom. Now, the AD100 designer has teamed up with the British wall covering brand de Gournay to bring that tableau (ever so slightly tweaked) into production.
