Roland Wolff learned the hard way that sometimes the best way to respond to a dramatic loss is with dramatic changes. When his life and business partner, Wolfgang Füssinger, died four years ago, he wondered what to do with the flat where they lived. Originally from Hamburg, in north Germany, he had moved south to Bavaria and specifically its capital, Munich, and had lived there since 1990. The couple had spent many hours together in their home, making plans, daydreaming, bouncing ideas off each other. After Füssinger's passing, Wolff began to think about how he might change their home: we used the kitchen so rarely, he said to himself, it has to go. Then he fulfilled a long-held dream: "I asked an artist friend to create a large mural there, in Ultra Blue by Little Greene. Since then," says Wolff, "I've enjoyed it every day. I think Katrin Bremermann's painting comes to life here."
