The team chasing season concludes at the Cotswold with wins for non-thoroughbreds, while Team Fox Grant and Team Ride Away 4 also snatch victories

Masterless are magnificent

THE Cotswold's two-day team chasing extravaganza goes from strength to strength, now with a full day of novice and mini classes on the Saturday.

The open presents a unique challenge with hedges, walls, banks and timber, and favours jumping and turning rather than pure speed. So it was fitting that the winners of the Cotswold's generous prize for the highest-placed team with at least three non-thoroughbreds also took the class.

Masterless Bitch Pack made teamwork pay: Anna Chamberlain led them away on the part-bred Jack, pressed by Roddy Stanning on Jake, a showjumping-bred warmblood. They made nothing of the feature Irish bank built by the late Mark Vestey, Hannah Mahon and her hunter Eddie in third slot closely followed by Lara Horn and Braqueur D'Or.
