Loyal Sunrise viewers have been left scratching their heads wondering what’s going on with Samantha Armytage after the co-host has gone missing from the breakfast show in recent times.

And while whispers have circulated for weeks that Sam, 43, has a “mystery illness”, Woman’s Day has learned the real reason could be much more celebratory.

According to a source, everyone believes Sam’s unexpected absences could be down to the fact she’s preparing for a new and more demanding role – being a mother!

The Sunrise crew firmly believe the popular presenter is expecting – with Sam’s extended leave, wardrobe choices and behaviour onscreen adding fuel to the already fiery gossip around Seven’s office water cooler.

“There’s a lot of whispering going on at Seven right now, but no one is actually game enough to ask her if she’s pregnant,” says the insider.
