Life in lockdown poses extra risks for Keith, but Nicole has his back

They might be ensconced in the lap of luxury in their Nashville home, but for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, lockdown has been one of the greatest tests of their lives.

Keith, 52, who was a drug addict since he was a teenager but has since recovered, last week admitted to having a complete emotional breakdown when coronavirus forced him to cancel his shows indefinitely.

He likened the experience to Jim Carrey’s character in Dumb And Dumber, “hiding in the bathroom stall when he’s sucking his thumb quivering in the corner”.

“That’s what it felt like for the first two weeks of this whole thing... especially when it became more apparent that we’re not going to be touring for a while,” he says candidly. “I’m just like, ‘Nope. What? No, no, no no. Always toured. Always toured. Must tour’. Trying to keep being creative in this new singular realm was a bit of a turn for me.”
