Even as England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) remain cagey about the resumption of cricket in their own backyard but equally concerned about their dwindling coffers and prospects, they have come up with a unique request of the International Cricket Council (ICC): asking for a coronavirus substitute! It only highlights the bizarre adventure that cricket has embarked upon in their attempt to resurrect the sport even as the pandemic is expected to peak in certain parts of the world.
