Jeremie Frimpong savours first season as a Celtic and can’t wait to win more silverware with the Hoops

- JOE DONELLY

OH MY DAYS!

IN winning the club’s Young Player of the Year award for 2019/20, Jeremie Frimpong saw off competition from the likes of Mikey Johnston, Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer for the award, sponsored by Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry & PWR Pack Ltd.

Since signing at Paradise last September, the tireless 19-year-old has enjoyed learning from the squad’s more experienced players, and named two key figures in his development at the nine in-a-row champions.

“Players like Scott Brown and Callum McGregor, they’ve been giving me advice on how it is here at Celtic, what’s expected, and that’s really helped me as a player,” Frimpong explained.

“When I came to Celtic, I was still pretty childish, but as I’ve been playing with them, I’ve learned new things in the game. I know how important next season is going to be. And to be fair, I don’t like losing, so I know how important it is myself. It’s going to be good, and I can’t wait.”
